Andrew Joins Commercial Team

Experienced real estate agent, Andrew Douglas, has joined Henzells Agency's busy commercial team as the sector enjoys impressive growth across the southern Sunshine Coast.

Before moving to commercial property, Andrew enjoyed a successful four year period with Henzells’ residential sales team. He has also previously worked in various roles including underground coal mining and as a concrete truck driver, citing his diverse career as an advantage in the property industry.

“I have had a lot of varied job roles, I take a bit from everything I have done, which helps me relate to all types of characters in the industry,’’ Andrew said.

“I love the challenge of working in property. There is always something different happening,’’ he said.

Andrew’s move to commercial coincides with a period of considerable optimism for the sector locally as major developments attract investor interest and industrial rents enjoy steady growth.

A recent article by the Australian Financial Review (AFR) outlined how industrial investments in regional hubs were outperforming those in booming capital city markets. Regional centres on the East coast were generating a prime rental growth of 8.3% compared to 1.2% for Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

Prime capital value in regional centres had reportedly climbed to 27.2% compared to the 25.3% growth experienced in the major capitals.

On the Sunshine Coast, strong occupier demand, particularly from the construction, transport, e-commerce and manufacturing sectors, has increased rent prices by 8.3% to an average of $130 per square metre, the AFR stated.

Originally from the New South Wales country township of Gunnedah, Andrew is now a long term resident of the Caloundra area where he loves the laidback lifestyle and beautiful beaches. Outside of work he enjoys staying fit, surfing and fishing with his children.
