Aura’s rising star - inside Stephen’s stellar first six months

Sales consultant Stephen Claassens has made a big impact in his relatively short time at Henzells Agency, listing and selling five properties in his first six months in real estate.

Stephen’s successes have come in the thriving suburb of Aura, the same place his wife and young children have made their home, flourishing in the outdoor lifestyle and family-friendly atmosphere.

Prior to joining Henzells, Stephen worked as an electrician on major infrastructure projects around Australia, developing an ability to communicate effectively with people from all walks of life and a reputation for providing honest, professional service in the community.

He is relishing the career shift to real estate because of the flexibility it provides and the rewards that come from helping people navigate an important time in their lives – and the results are clearly speaking for themselves!

Sales Manager Kyle Davies has praised the impressive debut, saying Stephen’s passion shines through in everything he does.

“When talking to Steve, you can see how passionate he really is about Aura. He has more passion for growth in the area than any other agent I know.
“He lives and breathes Aura. He’s the agent you want in your corner, one who strives to be a market leader not a market follower.”

We sat down with Stephen to find out more.

Q: So, is real estate as easy as it looks?
A:  To be honest, no it’s not, there is so much behind the scenes that no one sees. It can be a rollercoaster also that’s for sure.

Q: Have you learnt to juggle yet?
A: I’m learning quickly, one moment I had one or two properties to juggle then it quickly went to four or five. I haven’t dropped any yet!

Q: What’s in the pipeline?
A: Helping buyers and sellers get to their next phase in life. Continue doing what I’m doing day after day.

Q: Mentoring is an important part of the Henzells culture. You won’t get in trouble if you answer this wrongly, but is everything Kyle taught you right?
A: Ha ha! He is surprisingly accurate most of the time, he has been around for a while and knows what he is talking about.

Q: How many times have you walked around Aura, have you worn out many pairs of joggers?
A: I have definitely gotten to know the streets well! I’m due for a new pair now to be honest.

Q: What is it that makes your local area unique?
A: Aura is unique because it’s a new development which has changed the shape of this end of the coast. Every home is walking distance from a park and the family vibe is strong, it really drives the outdoor lifestyle, with how it’s been designed.

Q: What's the most memorable moment in your real estate career?
A: So far, I’ve had a few, but one that stands out is helping an elderly man sell his investment property that was a cause of stress for him. To get it sold really quicky for a price he was rapt with was nice, as it enabled him to move on without that worry anymore. You could hear the relief in his voice. This is why I love real estate so much.

Q: What’s one piece of advice you always give to first-time homebuyers?
A: Take your time, fear of missing out is real, but remember that sometimes missing out on a property is the best thing that happens in your search, the next one might suit you better.

Q: What is your favourite part of helping clients find their dream home?
A: Being a part of the excitement and being a source of expertise that people can rely on.

Q: What local market trend do you think will surprise people in the next 12 months?
A: I’m not sure there are any surprises around the corner. I think things will, particularly in Aura, continue strongly. I think Aura will continue to grow and continue to be a great area for everyone to live and enjoy.

Q: If you weren’t a real estate agent, what would you be?
A: I really enjoy helping people move on or change direction in their life, so I would probably do something within the psychology area or social work.
