Caloundra turns up the heat this Saturday, November 25, with the table set for the region’s first dedicated food extravaganza, the Ignite Chilli Festival.
Bustling Bulcock Street will play host to an exciting day of cooking demonstrations, info tents, live entertainment, street food and many unique stalls offering products with a twist of chilli from 1pm to 8pm.
This inaugural event builds on the chilli eating competition that has been held for the last two years in Caloundra and is the first festival of its kind in Caloundra for everyone to enjoy.
Locals and visitors alike are being encouraged to come along for a hot program of buskers, musicians and roving entertainment plus a sumptuous selection of tasty treats including tender calamari, gourmet dumplings, Dutch pancakes, Hungarian langos and enough hot chilli to test the toughest of tongues.
There’s also super raffle prizes to be won, a kiddies zone featuring jumping castle, face painting and fun craft activities, a chilli eating championship and demonstration by celebrity chef Gareth Collins.
Henzells is proudly getting behind Ignite as one of the festival’s official sponsors, and supports the Caloundra Chamber of Commerce in growing the region’s events program to strengthen the Caloundra brand.
Ignite takes its place on the Caloundra events calendar alongside established annual favourites including the Downunder Beachfest and the Caloundra Music Festival - all helping to keep Caloundra well and truly on the map and top of mind for potential visitors.
