The sausages were sizzling and community spirit was warm when Henzells hosted its Day for Daniel fundraiser in Bulcock Street today.
Our team was gladly manning the barbie, cooking up a storm for locals and visitors who were chipping in gold coins galore for the worthy cause.
Day for Daniel is a National Day of Action hosted by the Daniel Morcombe Foundation (DMF) to raise awareness of child safety, protection and harm prevention. Held on the last Friday of October each year, it is about educating children and adults about keeping kids safe through child safety and protection initiatives.
The objectives of Day for Daniel are:
The Day for Daniel is very close to our hearts at Henzells and we are always delighted to do what we can to help.
It is just one of the many charities and community organisations we support. In fact in the last few months alone, Henzells has donated over $15,000 including $2,500 to Dove Cottage, $3,500 to Talara Primary College, $10,000 to the Buy and Bale campaign helping Australian farmers and $500 to the Black Dog Institute.
It is a great privilege to do so and a way of giving back to the community which supports us.
