The southern Sunshine Coast is in the midst of a development boom with two projects totaling nearly $300 million either in the planning stages or underway, delivering a new era in residential living, dining and retail.
In the coming weeks, plans will go to council for a new $95 million marquee lifestyle precinct on a 6,000sqm site between Bulcock Street and Omrah Avenue in the heart of Caloundra. To be known as 'Verre Caloundra', the proposal includes 39 luxury residential owner occupier apartments above high-end retail and dining on street level.
The precinct will comprise of 10 levels of residential living with a selection of two and three-bedroom apartments, penthouses and resort pool area to be completed in stage one.
The accompanying commercial component is already attracting interest from a number of high-end lifestyle operators, with a funky laneway coffee shop and gourmet restaurant setting the tone.
If approved, construction is tipped to start in June 2022 with the first stage to be completed by the end of 2023, so watch this space for further updates!
Meanwhile 'The Cove', a $200 million master planned development on Pelican Waters new island precinct, is off to a flying start with the first exclusive release of 15 luxury residences selling to local buyers for $12 million.
The waterfront community will be delivered in four stages over the next four years and, when completed, comprise of 220 apartments and terrace homes, a grocer and waterfront restaurant.
These developments highlight the enormous optimism in the southern Sunshine Coast which continues to go from strength to strength as one of Queensland’s most desirable lifestyle destinations.
