Former Australian and State of Origin NRL player Dan Stains has joined the winning team at Henzells Agency as a commercial property specialist.

Having already tackled a successful stint with a locally owned mechanical repair business since retiring from top-level playing and coaching duties, Dan said he was excited about the future of commercial property on the Sunshine Coast.

He will be concentrating on commercial sales and leasing north of the Currimundi Bridge including Kawana, Maroochy and Coolum.

“I think the outlook for the next couple of years on the Sunshine Coast is very encouraging,’’ Dan said.

“People have realised this is one of the best places in the world to live and work. Residential sales are continuing to perform very well and on the back of that the commercial sector will be strong.”

Dan said growing economic confidence meant people were looking to start new ventures or expand their existing businesses, often taking an innovative approach to get the best returns.

“Today’s clients are more likely to think outside the box when making commercial property decisions such as unlocking their superannuation to invest, or buying in managed trusts,’’ he said.

As a former NRL player for Cronulla Sharks and Balmain Tigers, Australian representative and four-time Queensland State of Origin player, Dan knows the importance of team work and communication.

When his NRL career wound up in 1996, Dan ventured to the UK where he played and later coached for the London Broncos.

He settled with his family on the Sunshine Coast in 2000 to run a mechanical repair business, developing a taste for commercial property through the buying and selling of industrial sheds.
