Communities matter. Being part of something bigger than yourself not only creates a sense of belonging, but immense pride to be directly involved in shaping the place we love for the better.

At Henzells Agency, we aren’t satisfied with merely contributing funds, but go about finding ways to actively participate. Our staff sell the tickets, run the events, turn the sausages, serve the food and drinks, make up the raffles, buy the bicycles, the Easter eggs and organise the movie nights.

We feel very honoured to be nominated for the 2022 Sunshine Coast Community Awards, recognising those who make significant contributions for the betterment of the region. The awards gala night will take place on Saturday night.

Henzells is sharply aware of the issues facing our local youth in relation to mental health, homelessness and child safety. For this reason, we have entered into a close association with You Turn Youth Support. Most recently we provided support for the You Turn It Up Concert, Fishing Program and Self Defence Classes and in the next twelve months we will proudly support the Wellbeing Program 2022 – 2023. The wellbeing program is an option for 12–25-year-old’s seeking an alternative to traditional appointment based mental health consults. We look forward to supporting up to 50 young people over the year.

This is just one of the causes that is dear to our hearts. The past year we have also donated time, money and support to organisations including R U Okay Day, Australian’s Biggest Morning Tea, the Daniel Morcombe Foundation and the Blue Heart Campaign - against human trafficking.

The long list of local groups we sponsor includes the Caloundra Panthers, Unity College Soccer, Caloundra Lighthouses Rugby, Pelican Waters Bowls Club, Crime Stoppers, Caloundra Film Festival, Caloundra Vets Golf, Antiquarians Cricket Club, the Pyjama Foundation, Caloundra Arts Centre Association, Currimundi State College, Rotary Club Caloundra and the Caloundra High School Bursary.

We are also long-time supporters of Metropolitan Caloundra SLSC, recently providing the funds for the new Patrol Buggy which is used to keep beach-goers safer. Meanwhile our Henzells Hero campaign, providing $500 each for people and groups who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make Caloundra shine, has unearthed a number of local legends including the Disabled Surfers Association, Grab Life by the Balls, an inspirational swim coach and a fundraising star within the Met Caloundra Nippers.

Giving back to the community is its own reward, however we are still very grateful to be recognised by the Sunshine Coast Community Awards, and wish all the other nominees the very best of luck.
