With 2020 marking Henzells’ 85th year of continuous operation on the Sunshine Coast, it’s an excellent time to reflect on the things that have made the business such a dominant force in local real estate.
Above all else, we like to think it is our great people who set us apart.
We have the utmost respect for the hard work, time and commitment the Henzell family has dedicated to the Caloundra region over 85 years to make the agency such a household name.
These high standards flow through our entire team, which draws strength and inspiration from the company’s unique team culture and family values.
This makes for a positive and enjoyable workplace with everybody sharing the common passion of delivering outstanding outcomes for buyers and sellers by combining old fashioned service with new technology and innovation.
Staff turnover is minimal and loyalty is a common theme. Take sales consultant Debra Hyde for example, who first started with Henzells fresh out of high school in the mid 1970s, “doing administration and a bit of everything” when current Director Roy Henzell’s father, Bevan, was in charge.
“It was a great era, there were holidaymakers everywhere. It was a little residential town with a friendly atmosphere and its own beaches, we were very blessed,’’ she said.
Debra still counts her blessings to be living and working in the town she loves.
She has spent time away from the Sunshine Coast to spread her wings, working in the Snowy Mountains, Western Australia, regional Queensland and the United Kingdom.
It was in Scotland where she met her husband, Keven, before settling back home permanently 20 years ago to raise a family.
“Having travelled, you realise how special the Sunshine Coast is and what a great workplace it is at Henzells.
“I love that they are so community minded and support local causes without making a big fuss. They do it because they really care," Debra said.
