This Saturday evening shapes as a very exciting one for Henzells Agency, when the winners of the Ignite 2019 REIQ Awards for Excellence are announced at a gala event in Brisbane.
Win, lose or draw we are very proud that our commitment to the local community we love so much has been recognised by being named a finalist in the Community Service category.
Serving the community is the heart and soul of the Henzells business so we are very proud to be recognised amongst the best of the best in this field.
As one of the Sunshine Coast’s longest serving local businesses, we aim to leave a lasting legacy by being as active in the general community as we are in the real estate community.
Together with Pelican Waters, Henzells has added to the social fabric of the region through the establishment of numerous parks, boardwalks, bridges and waterways.
The agency also provides free sunscreen and shade marquees to local junior sports teams to protect them from the Aussie elements while having fun, on top of a great many other community initiatives.
Most recent examples include raising funds for Currimundi State School and Golden Beach State School by donating goodies for their giant Easter raffles, while the stage is set mid-year for our annual movie night with proceeds going to Dove Cottage to assist with their wonderful palliative care work at Caloundra Hospital.
Plans are also teed up for our annual Henzells Pelican Waters Foundation Charity Golf and Long Lunch Classic on September 13. This year’s major beneficiary will be Smart Pups, an awesome not-for-charity group based on the Sunshine Coast that provides trained service dogs to assist children with special needs.
In 2010, Henzells Agency and Pelican Waters established a foundation to support local charities and families who do not receive government support. This initiative alone has raised excess of $205,000 through the golf day and other mediums.
Beneficiaries have included Montrose Therapy and Respite Services, Currimundi Special School, Bloomhill Cancer Care, Steps Charity, James Ackerman family, Rosies Youth Mission, Finn Smith, WindanSea Boardriders, Cittamani Hospice, Royal Flying Doctor Service, McKay Family Support, RACQ Careflight, Sunny Kids, Alex Surf Lifesaving Club, The Compass Institute, and Sunshine Coast Riding for the Disabled, Ithaca Life Saving, Met Caloundra Surf Life Saving, AFL Caloundra Club House, SC Falcons and Listening for Lucy.
We have taken enormous pleasure from helping many people reach their full potential through the raising of hundreds of thousands of dollars for worthy local charities, sporting groups, families and individuals in need.
We would like to thank all the recipients for the positive work and inspiration they provide.
