A big congratulations to our Operations Manager Katherine Allan who has celebrated her 12-year anniversary with Henzells.
The milestone is a career “high note” for Katherine who when not busy at work keeping our agency ahead of the field by providing the most effective methods in its business operations, pursues her considerable talent in Irish singing.
Hailing from County Down, Northern Ireland, Katherine moved to her husband’s home town Brisbane in the 1990s, after the pair met while working at a summer camp in the USA.
“He was a lifeguard and I was a music instructor who couldn’t swim,’’ Katherine said.
Katherine worked as an office manager in the building industry for 10 years, relocating to the Sunshine Coast which had become a favourite holiday destination.
She started with Henzells Agency in 2005 as a part time admin assistant where her strong customer service skills, multi-tasking and attention to detail saw her quickly rise through the ranks.
“I love that every day is different at Henzells, the different challenges that the job brings,’’ Katherine said.
“Most of all I like the people here, we work hard but there is lots of fun and laughter. Henzells puts a lot of effort into picking the right people and it shows with a great working environment and lots of mutual respect,’’ she said.
Katherine’s career highlights include winning the Bevan Henzell Award for exceptional service to Henzells Agency in 2009 and being part of the agency’s 80 year celebrations in 2015.
She has also been a major driver in lifting the profile of the agency’s property management and holiday rental businesses while ushering in new technologies such as online bookings and electronic signature systems.“I also get tremendous satisfaction out of seeing the staff learn and grow. Combining excellent customer service with brilliant communication – that’s what the Henzells brand means to me,’’ she said.
