From a teenage trainee to the former Deputy Mayor, Henzells is in the midst of a mini employment boom, bringing on a broad range of personalities, experience and specialty services to the southern Sunshine Coast property market.
The past few weeks have seen the agency’s ranks bolstered with five new staff, covering everything from residential and land sales to commercial sales, leasing and holidays. Our latest recruits include sales trainees Scott Munro and Tyler McCready, holiday reservations consultant Marni Boehme, residential sales expert Sue Custance and commercial sales and leasing consultant, Tim Dwyer.
Our people come from all walks of life, bringing a great combination of real-world experience, local knowledge and real estate expertise, topped with up-to-date industry training and backed by Henzells proven systems formed over more than 85 years in the local property business.
Meet the newest members of our team…
Scott Munro (Sales Trainee)
Scott’s passion for real estate was born at a young age when he would tag along with his father to attend open homes. His hardworking and friendly nature combined with an excellent background in sales means the sky’s the limit for his real estate career.
Originally from Glasgow Scotland, Scott moved to the Sunshine Coast seven years ago with his parents renting their first home through Henzells. He has previously worked as a shift manager and a superannuation sales specialist. Scott enjoys playing soccer and volleyball in his spare time.
“I’ve always been super interested in real estate from a young age and would frequently look at open homes with my Dad. So in a sense it was inevitable I would end up in the industry,’’ he said.
Tyler McCready (Sales Trainee)
You could say Tyler has an eye for property having managed his own real estate photography business on the Sunshine Coast for four years prior to joining Henzells. He has also worked as a glazier in the construction industry.
Drawn to the property sector for its fast-pace nature and team environment, Tyler is currently a sales trainee with visions of becoming a top-tier agent. Tyler has expert local knowledge having lived and worked on the Coast his entire life. He enjoys running, travelling, reading and going to the beach.
“I love the competitive and fast-paced nature of the industry. I’ve spent the last four years as a real estate photographer for multiple agents as well as spent the last seven years working in the construction industry. I have also spent my life on the Sunshine Coast so I have a wealth of local knowledge and contacts to draw from,’’ he said.
Marni Boehme (Holiday Reservations Consultant)
With experience working for a major property management group prior to joining Henzells, Marni offers exceptional skills in communicating with tenants, guests, owners and contractors.
Marni is originally from Katherine in the Northern Territory and also spent time in Darwin and Hervey Bay prior to settling on the Sunshine Coast where she loves the beaches and restaurants. When she is not at work you might catch Marni jet skiing or spending time with her family, friends and her dog.
Sue Custance (Pelican Waters Hostess)
Sue is a welcome addition to the Henzells and Pelican Waters real estate team offering a wealth of experience in property and communication. Having previously worked for major Sunshine Coast agencies and as a property writer, she has a unique understanding of the local market.
Sue’s outstanding customer service and people skills make her the perfect choice for buyers or sellers looking to make their next property move. Outside of work Sue enjoys riding waves, dining and catching up with friends.
“I still consider myself very fortunate to have been offered the role of property writer for Australian Provincial Newspapers (now News Corp) just as the GFC was being felt. This kept me going for almost 10 years and I gained a lot of insight into property from Noosa to Caloundra,’’ Sue said.
“My father was in real estate, as well as being an auctioneer and a valuer. Real estate was a big part of our lives.”
Tim Dwyer (Commercial Sales & Leasing Consultant)
Prior to joining Henzells, Tim served as a local councillor and Deputy Mayor for 20 years, gaining invaluable insight into the southern Sunshine Coast region and its settlement patterns. He has also served on the Board of the NSWRL Players Association.
Tim has spent his whole life in Caloundra where he loves the beaches, coastline and relaxed lifestyle. Outside of work he enjoys surf lifesaving, body surfing, reading, crosswords and being a dad.
“I was looking for a new career pathway and was given an opportunity at Henzells. Henzells is a wonderful local business with a great history so being part of it is something that’s pretty special," Tim said.
“I’ve had 20 years in local government which has given me a good understanding of our region. My overall life experience, with all of my jobs being ones where I was interacting with people, should give me a good basis from which to develop in the real estate industry".
