As one of the Sunshine Coast’s longest-serving family businesses, Henzells is navigating its way out of the COVID-19 crisis and we want to lift the rest of the community with us.
That’s why we called in the help of many of the local Caloundra businesses we know and love to star alongside our own commercial manager, Paul Bell, in a video capturing our hopes for the town, post coronavirus.
There is no getting around the fact that the pandemic has been devastating for a lot of residents and business owners, many of them mum and dad operators.
We know that a lot of people move here with a view to a better life, perhaps to buy a business and operate it, and for many that dream has been dealt a savage blow.
But as we move around the community now that there is a different feel starting to emerge, and a sense that there may be light at the end of the tunnel.
One of the positive signs has been the government easing of travel restrictions, allowing holiday accommodation bookings from Queenslanders living within a 250km radius, for stays after June 12.
Our holiday business, Accom Caloundra, is already experiencing a surge in bookings on the back of this announcement which is very pleasing, and we will be targeting the drive market with fresh campaigns to encourage even higher visitor numbers from June 12.
Of course social distancing and other health protocols will still apply, and property owners will now have to comply with new very high standards for hygiene and cleanliness in their holiday homes, but it is our first glimmer of things starting to return to normal.
Henzells has been part of the Caloundra community for over 85 years and things have been very tough lately, however our business and all the other businesses and smiling faces that make this town special are looking forward to welcoming everyone soon.
