Henzells Agency is very pleased to announce the appointment of Mai Sugiya to the position of reservations consultant.
Mai brings extensive industry experience to the role having worked across the tourism and property sectors.
Originally from Japan where she grew up in Shizuoka Prefecture – the home of Mt Fuji – she moved to Australia in 2004 after falling in love with Caloundra on an international exchange.
Mai’s background includes working in the front office and reservation departments and leading resorts including the Hyatt Coolum, the Intercontinental Group and Wyndham.
She has relished the opportunity to apply her experience and skills in a new field. Meeting new people, taking a customer-oriented approach and rising the challenges of working in a fast paced environment are the parts of her job she finds particularly rewarding.
Mai says she was attracted to Henzells because of the supportive team environment and high level of professionalism.
She strives to make the process of booking holidays as rewarding and seamless as possible.
Recently becoming an Australian citizen, she holds a Diploma of Events Management and is fluent in both English and Japanese.
Outside of work, Mai enjoys tennis, surfing, growing fruit and vegetables in her backyard at Golden Beach and baking.
