It only takes a quick glance at the client testimonials to see what a valuable member of the team Michelle Sommerfeld is.
Calm, caring, focussed, methodical, patient, professional, friendly and honest.
These are the attributes the local real estate community, and all of us here at Henzells, have grown to love about Michelle since she walked through the front door and asked for a job around eight years ago.
With water-based living in her blood, it was little wonder Michelle would eventually make her life and career on the Sunshine Coast.
Michelle originally worked in the marine industry in Brooklyn at the entrance to the Hawkesbury River in NSW before plotting a course for Hervey Bay, where she would branch into property, working for a local real estate firm for 10 years.
Ready for new challenges, she moved to Caloundra and showed up on Henzells’ doorstep with a skillset and attitude that couldn’t be ignored.
“I walked in the front door and spoke with the receptionist, forwarded a resume and was soon offered a position as a leasing consultant,’’ she said.
Within a couple of years, Michelle was given the role of business development manager. After a short detour working at a bank back in NSW, she made a welcome return to Henzells five years ago starting in reception, then leasing, before settling in her current position as senior property manager.
“The doors are always open at Henzells, they are supportive and stand by you. We have a great team and it’s just a nice place to come to work every day,’’ Michelle said
It’s fair to say that one team member stood out more than most - property consultant Brad Judd, who she married in May this year!
Michelle is an invaluable member of the property management team where she looks after maintenance requests, lease renewals, tenant and owner liaison, routine inspections and more across the busy portfolio.
Her outstanding contributions have been recognised with the Judy Henzell Award for property management excellence.
Outside of work Michelle enjoys spending time with family and friends and watching her grandkids play rugby league.
