Born and bred on the Sunshine Coast, Samantha ‘Sammy’ Quimby combines her friendly, approachable manner with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence to go above and beyond in her role as Customer Service Officer.
There’s no job too big or small for Sammy whether it’s distributing mail, opening the office and setting up the front reception, dealing with the numerous daily enquiries either by phone or in person, processing rental applications, stocktaking, database management, filing or organising events.
Sammy has worked in the customer service industry since the age of 15, including two years with Telstra prior to joining Henzells seven years ago.
So many highlights for Sammy include “Key handovers for first home buyers, that first holiday a family takes after borders reopened. I see a lot of really happy things."
“Along with these special moments, when you’ve been at a workplace for seven years you form strong relationships with both owners and tenants. It’s such a nice feeling when a client calls and they remember I had just got married or I know they’ve been on holidays from previous conversations, we pick up from where we left off"
“I work alongside some really beautiful people,’ who I now call friends’ she said.
There are numerous beautiful people outside of work for Sammy as well, most notably her mum who she credits as her hero.
“She is the most incredible human being on the planet. We lost my dad in 2012, so I’ve watched my mum adapt and grow after such a huge life changing event and she still holds so much love and grace for everybody. If I am even half the woman she is, I’ll be happy with myself,’’ Sammy said.
One of the happiest days for Sammy was when she and her husband were eventually able to marry after having to postpone their wedding due to COVID.
When not at work, Sammy loves enjoying all the Sunshine Coast has to offer including hitting the Bulcock Street markets with friends, coffee at Aurenda at Kings Beach, dinner at El Camino, leisurely walks with Sadie her Cavoodle and just chilling at home.
Horror movies, Formula 1, travelling, reading and a cheeky spicy margarita on the rocks (extra lime, salt on the rim ALWAYS) don’t go down too badly either.
Next time you walk into Henzells or call our office, make sure you tell Sammy you've now read all about her!
