Optimism is high in Caloundra’s CBD as the Bulcock Street revitalisation project forges ahead.

While the upgrade has resulted in temporary unavoidable inconvenience for some businesses, the consensus in the community is the end result will be well worth it.

The Caloundra brand continues to grow in stature as a leading Australian tourist and lifestyle destination as well as a business, investment and employment hub.

The multi-stage Bulcock Street Streetscape project has helped breathe new life into the heart of Caloundra where growing confidence is driving strong lease activity for our commercial team.

The multi-stage Caloundra Streetscape Upgrade Project aims to enhance the look and experience of the area through tree planting, gardens, street furniture, shade features, interactive feature lighting, new footpaths, pedestrian crossings and more.

Stage 4 of the project, with estimated construction value of $3m, is currently underway focusing on upper Bulcock Street extending from Minchinton Street to the Knox Avenue intersection.

The plan is to ensure a sense of connectivity and continuity along Bulcock Street, with the roadway being reshaped and upright kerbs removed.

Design improvements will include new trees and shrubs, new footpaths, public art and “smart city” technology such as automatic traffic bollards, free Wi-Fi points, sensors for waste bins and car parking and LED lighting.

Construction is expected to finish in early December in time for the peak holiday period.
