The latest REIQ figures paint a positive picture for the Coast market, reinforcing what we have been experiencing at Henzells for some time.

The peak real estate body’s recent Queensland Market Monitor report showed that the Sunshine State was defying a nation-wide trough, with property remaining affordable and demonstrating signs of sustainable growth compared with the southern capitals.

Described as “steady”, the Sunshine Coast Local Government Area has delivered the second highest annual growth rate in the state, at 3.5 percent. The annual median house price on the Coast is $585,000, nearly 30% higher than was being achieved five years ago.

Consistency has always been a feature of the Caloundra property market. Its friendly relationship with Brisbane buyers just an hour down the highway gives it a unique advantage over its northern Sunshine Coast neighbours, while regional centres such as the Darling Downs are also long-established supporters.

The southern Sunshine Coast has a sense of its own mini economy fuelled by historic support from city and rural sea-changers on top of its undeniable local popularity. 

Quality properties are being snapped up as soon as they hit the market and agents are reporting a huge influx of new buyers capitalising on the excellent market conditions to make the change they have always dreamt of.
