From the airline industry to a high-flier in property management, it has been a steady climb for Tanya Jimmieson.
Formerly from New Zealand, Tanya settled on the Sunshine Coast in 2011, falling in love with the beaches and outdoor lifestyle.
Growing up in Christchurch on New Zealand’s South Island, it was ‘a good life’ for Tanya before the devastating earthquakes that rocked the city would bring forward plans to set up a permanent home across the Tasman.
Tanya began her working life for New Zealand liquor group Magnum Corporation, learning the ropes in hospitality and customer service in the fast-paced industry during her late teens and early 20s.
Looking to spread her wings, she broke into the airline industry with Air New Zealand and later Ansett NZ, managing general and corporate reservations and staff holidays.
Eventually landing in Sydney, Tanya worked for Ansett selling NZ holidays to Australians while also providing PA services to the sales manager of Hayman Island in the Whitsundays.
Next came a short spell in Corowa in NSW’s central west, then back to New Zealand in 2000 where motherhood called.
After having two children in 2001 and 2003, Tanya ventured into real estate for the first time as a property management assistant in Christchurch prior to the earthquakes.
The family moved to the Sunshine Coast with Tanya working for a number of local agencies prior to joining Henzells in 2017, where her wealth of property management experience and ability to listen is a major asset for owners and tenants alike.
“It’s a rewarding job. The people I work with, the team environment and the support you get makes it a great place to be,’’ Tanya said.
Whether it’s organising maintenance, conducting inspections or drawing up tenancy agreements and lease renewals, Tanya’s highly organised approach, strong communication skills and commitment to excellence ensure the highest standards are always met.
When not at work, Tanya loves spending quality time with family and friends. “If they’re happy, I’m happy,’’ she said.
Relaxing by the pool and planning trips away in the new caravan is another favourite past time.
“I’m looking forward to a longer holiday with my husband. We have done some little coastal trips but are aiming for a big trip to Tassie hopefully next year," she said.
