Travelling along nicely: How Brittany mapped out a successful real estate career

From guiding satisfied clients through their real estate journeys, to taking exciting journeys of her own, for leading agent Brittany McCurdy, life is an adventure.

Born and bred on the Sunshine Coast, Brittany’s unrivalled local knowledge, honesty, empathy, great communication skills and commitment to outstanding service ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Alongside team member Clare Thompson, Brittany makes up one of the most successful real estate partnerships in the region.

“I started with Henzells nearly six years ago and teamed up with Clare after six months. We work well together, and it helps with the work/life balance which is important,’’ Brittany said.

The ‘life’ part of the equation for Brittany is travelling Australia and the world at every opportunity. 

Having enjoyed short escapes to Melbourne, Airlie Beach, Bali and New Zealand the past year, she is hopeful of experiencing a white Christmas in Lapland and exploring northern Europe in the near future.

“I have lots of destinations on my bucket list! I love to explore and go to different places with family and friends. That is why I put my head down and work hard,’’ she said.

Brittany’s spirit of adventure started at a young age, growing up camping and racing dirt bikes with her two younger brothers.

“On the weekends we would ride motocross at the track at Coolum or out the back near Roys Road where Harmony is now. It was great fun, and I got into racing in my teens and early 20s.

“My first car was a van and I would put the bike in the back, travelling south-east Queensland and racing.’’  

After finishing school, Brittany worked in the family business, managing up to 40 staff across five retail stores, where she developed her passion and skills in sales and helping people – a perfect fit for her property career.

Prior to joining Henzells, Brittany worked for a Mooloolaba-based agency progressing from reception to sales administration, marketing and business development.

“I wanted to do it right and get a solid grounding, working from the bottom up,’’ Brittany said.

The formula paid off with Brittany quickly entrenching herself as one of Henzells’ star performers, responsible for hundreds of sales in Kings Beach and surrounding suburbs, and winning multiple awards.

“I love the office culture at Henzells, the owners (Roy Henzell and Garry Waters) drop in most days for a chat, it’s very family oriented.

“Family is important to me so this rings true. I enjoy coming to work. There is staff longevity across all departments which you don’t see very often. It says a lot.”
