With the new financial year upon us, it is a good time to reflect on the past 12 months as a business and we are extremely fortunate to say it has been a highly successful period in the face of enormous challenges.
Adaptability has been a crucial part in negotiating the ever-changing COVID situation and we thank all of our staff and customers for their patience and resilience as we strive every day to do the best we can.
When the pandemic first hit, no one could have imagined that our business would go on to thrive as it has to the point of us having arguably our best year on record. In no small part, this is thanks to our team ethos, family values, proven processes, ability to change and of course our wonderful staff. Here’s just a small snapshot of what we achieved in the last 12 months to 30 June 2021.
Henzells have negotiated more than 400 property sales for a total amount of $206,423,135. This is made up of $138,092,450 for residential homes, $13,952,840 in commercial property and $54,377,845 for land. Our average residential sale price was also $731,688.
Buyers are more informed than ever and hit the internet in big numbers in the hunt for their next home with Henzells properties attracting 10,177,779 online views.
With the rental market being the tightest in memory, we treated the responsibility of helping those in need very seriously, resulting in finding quality accommodation for many families who had nowhere else to turn.
We leased 144 properties for an average rent of $518 per week, handled 14,014 enquiries and processed 1,370 applications. Henzells hosted 373 property inspections and our total number of open home attendees was 2,117. Almost 400 new leases were negotiated by our Property Management team. The average vacancy rate was just 0.22% and rent was paid on or before time in 99.43% of cases.
On the back of our own marketing campaigns and our industry leading COVID cleaning standards for holiday accommodation, domestic visitation continued to thrive resulting in 2,889 bookings through our Accom Caloundra team, equating to 25,639 nights stayed and overall takings of $3,076,481.
Henzells continued to grow our staff employing many locals, including giving young people a start in the industry through sales trainee and associate programs.
We also took great pleasure in giving back to the community, contributing thousands of dollars plus time, effort and in-kind support to worthy local charities, sporting and community groups. Another major highlight was recently celebrating our 85th anniversary at a gala function at the Sunshine Coast Turf Club.
The numbers don’t lie and whilst no one knows what next year will bring, we will continue to take new challenges in our stride to achieve the best possible outcomes for our customers, staff and the community.
