As the end of 2021 draws near, it’s worth reflecting on some of the wow moments that made the year so special. Here’s just a small snapshot of some of the highlights as we look forward to even bigger and better things in 2022!
Holiday bookings were at an all-time high as domestic visitation went through the roof. We also upgraded our bookings software and Accom Caloundra website to improve the customer experience. Of our wide selection of holiday accommodation from Golden Beach to the Kawana stretch, there were a few notable standouts. In a tight race, Kings Beach took the crown with the Marika holiday apartments perched above the ocean boardwalk and a holiday home in Margaret Street enjoying the highest rate of bookings.
It was a year of unprecedented demand for our letting team who showed incredible compassion and commitment to help wherever they could with record numbers of people looking for homes and apartments to rent.
Owners of rental properties fared extremely well with vacancy rates at virtually 0% for the year and rental incomes remaining very strong. Homes at Roderick and Bryce Streets in sought after Moffat Beach, and a property in The Promenade at Pelican Waters were amongst the best performers.
Commercial property rode the crest of the wave throughout 2021, spurred on by a number of large-scale projects in planning or underway, comparative value and attractive returns for investors.
Highlights included the sale of the DLD Discounts Store at 36A Bulcock Street, sold as a freehold investment to a local buyer for $925,000; the sale of a 6,000sqm site in the heart of the Caloundra CBD which will be developed into a $95 million lifestyle precinct; and the sale of 82 Burnett Street Buderim, a prime corner shopfront on the village’s main street.
Residential property and land sales entered uncharted territory with annual growth rates as high as 30% being achieved across the popular beach suburbs, and new street records being set seemingly every week.
Pelican Waters experienced a flood of buyers for its Navigators and The Entrance land releases with each precinct selling out within days of release and with most lots being significantly oversubscribed.
In a year of numerous highlights for residential sales, the standout was 37 Warne Terrace, described as arguably Australia’s best beach block, which has been placed under offer for a record price in the 4551 postcode.
Meanwhile, one of the last remaining original beach homes in Caloundra, 14 Orvieto Terrace, received over 3,000 website views, more than 1,000 video views and 11 offers before selling for $2 million cash to a Brisbane buyer.
As always, thank you to our wonderful staff and clients for making 2021 so incredible, we couldn’t have done it without you.
