Caloundra’s iconic Bulcock Street and surrounding CBD precinct has become a hive of commercial activity, with an exciting mix of new businesses joining the rush to set up shop.
Henzells commercial manager Paul Bell said interest in buying, selling and leasing commercial property in the central Caloundra region was as strong as he could recall, with businesses and consumers enjoying a major resurgence.
The region’s prime beachside location, unique appeal with traditional main street and laneway shopping and a major revitalisation of the CBD were contributing factors, he said.
“Caloundra is certainly gaining momentum as a new commercial hot spot attracting the full spectrum of new businesses from professional service providers to trendy new eateries and boutiques as well as the blue chip tenancies and national franchises,’’ Mr Bell said.
“A sustained period of low interest rates and favourable growth forecasts for the local economy and jobs has created optimism in the market.
“Sellers are no longer hesitating, while investors and owner occupiers are out in force looking for that next opportunity.”
The Bulcock Street revitalization project, and street upgrade commencing February next year, was creating a buzz in the community according to Henzells Caloundra.
Breathing new life into the Caloundra CBD, the vibrant streetscape project includes tree planting, gardens, street furniture, shade features, interactive feature lighting, new footpaths and pedestrian crossings.
Operators including coffee shop and health food restaurant, Green N Go, and popular Sunshine Coast franchises Hello Harry and Donut Boyz are the latest to call the exciting new growth hotspot home, leasing prime commercial sites from the Henzells team.
Artisan donut business Donut Boyz brings its fresh, handcrafted treats to town, opening a new outlet at Shop 5, Caloundra City Centre, 51 – 55 Bulcock Street, while Hello Harry will have mouths watering for its old school burgers at Lot 9, in the Rumba Resort complex.
Green N Go is located at Shop 3, 48 Bulcock Street, where it offers great coffee and service to match, premium brewed tea, healthy food with GF options and much more.
Donut Boyz co-owner Michelle Evans said she was drawn to Caloundra for its unique appeal. She said the friendly atmosphere, historic main street and quirky laneways were the perfect setting for a foodies’ destination to rival anything in Australia.
“I think there is great scope for many of the like-minded businesses to work together as a collective, promoting each other, this great community and our wonderful local produce,’’ she said.
Paul Bell said business owners where taking huge pride in their premises, often undertaking significant refurbishments to enhance the customer experience.
