Don’t fall for the promise of a good price or a cheap deal as it is an agent’s processes that will put more money in your pocket in the long run.
Does your agent care about you and your individual circumstances? Are they skilful negotiators and great communicators? Do they have an intimate knowledge of the local area and an excellent strike rate at selling properties like yours? Do they have a trusted brand behind them with strong connections to the local community? Is your agent friendly, honest, approachable and committed to achieving your goals rather than their own?
These are the questions you should be considering when choosing a real estate agent. Do your research on prospective agents just as you would on a prospective property. Visit as many open homes and auctions as you can to see them in action, talk to past clients, look for reviews, testimonials and recommendations online.
Once you have found your agent, sit down with them and work out a strategy. The desired price comes if the right processes are followed and there is plenty of traffic coming through the door giving good feedback.
