A number of health and wellness businesses have opened their doors in the Caloundra CBD as the revitalisation of Bulcock Street continues to breathe new life into the Sunshine Coast’s southern centre.
From major national franchises to smaller family affairs, an exciting cross section of new businesses are setting up shop in the city’s iconic main street precinct on the back of the upgrade and other nearby infrastructure development.
Henzells Commercial Manager, Paul Bell, said that while some of the works were causing temporary disruptions, most traders understood that the long term benefits would be worthwhile.
“We are definitely seeing a shift back to Bulcock Street, as growing confidence drives strong lease activity,’’ Paul said.
“The general feel is one of optimism, the Caloundra brand is growing in stature and businesses are deciding that the main street is where they want to be.”
A noticeable trend has been the influx of new health and wellness related ventures with naturopathy business Integrated Wellness Clinic, skin care experts CosDerm and natural coconut product specialists Coconol all negotiating tenancies with Henzells Commercial in recent weeks.
National accounting group Williams Hall Chadwick has also spread its wings to Caloundra’s main street.
The multi-stage Caloundra Streetscape Upgrade Project aims to enhance the look and experience of the area through tree planting, gardens, street furniture, shade features, interactive feature lighting, new footpaths, pedestrian crossings and more
Stage 4 of the project, with estimated construction value of $2m, will focus on upper Bulcock Street extending from Minchinton Street to the Knox Avenue intersection.
The design will be available for viewing in the Caloundra Library from Tuesday August 4 to Thursday August 24. Major streetscape construction work will not begin until after the 2018 Easter holidays.
